More benefits, better value
As a Medicare beneficiary, you can choose from different Medicare options for your Part D coverage. There are two basic types. The most simple is a prescription drug plan (sometimes called a PDP) that covers only drugs and can be used with your traditional Medicare and/or a Medicare supplement plan.
The other type offers more comprehensive benefits, like Samaritan Advantage’s Premier Plan and Premier Plan Plus, which combine a prescription drug plan with a medical benefits package that covers more than original Medicare with less out-of-pocket expense for you. Additional benefits include:
- Routine physical and preventative exams
- Routine vision services, including glasses
- Routine chiropractic services
- Worldwide coverage for emergency and urgent care services
- Acupuncture
- Hearing exams
- Health and wellness education services and classes
- Hearing aid benefit (Premier Plan Plus only)
- Dental benefits (Premier Plan Plus only)
- Coverage for generic drugs through Medicare’s coverage gap (Premier Plan Plus only)
Combining a prescription plan with medical benefits with Samaritan Advantage’s Premier Plan or Premier Plan Plus, provides you with better value:
- More medical attention – If you are taking many prescription drugs or have high drug costs, you are eligible for Samaritan Advantage’s no-cost medication therapy program, designed by a team of pharmacists and physicians to ensure that you are receiving the appropriate drugs to treat your medical condition.
- Protected care – Each time you fill a prescription, we run a review to check that the medications you have been prescribed are safe for you to use (drug allergies, dosage, harmful interactions, etc.). These reviews are especially important if you have more than one doctor who is prescribing your medication.
- Less hassle – You pay one premium for your medical and prescription benefits, and we handle virtually all of the paperwork for you.
